Services

Dr. Schwalberg offers consultations or ongoing meetings with anxiety disorder sufferers or their significant others in his offices or via internet videoconferencing, audioconferencing, and/or telephone.

Internet/telephone - based services may not be appropriate for everyone. An initial consultation/assessment with Dr. Schwalberg will provide more information regarding what services may or may not be provided, issues involved in internet/telephone - based services (such as privacy), and what specific services may be appropriate for you.

Dr. Schwalberg is licensed to practice psychology in the states of New York and New Jersey. He may be able to work with people who reside in other states or countries, but this will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis depending on the nature of the problem and state or local laws. Formation of various forms of video/telephone conferencing-based support groups consisting of people from around the world may be possible. Again this will be decided on a case-by-case basis.

In recent years, step-by-step self-help treatment manuals have been developed for those suffering from certain anxiety disorders. These manuals are based on research-proven effective programs for the treatment of anxiety disorders. For some people, Dr. Schwalberg will act as a "coach," assisting them in completing a program using one of these self-help manuals. Of course, such a program can be tailored to each individual with the assistance of Dr. Schwalberg. Others may prefer not to use a self-help manual. Here too, after a thorough evaluation, an individualized plan will be developed to assist the anxiety disorder sufferer.

Finally, it should be noted that not all of those wishing assistance with stress or anxiety suffer from a "disorder." Dr. Schwalberg has worked with many such individuals in stress and anxiety management.
